Welcome to the website for the London region of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health

The UK’s Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) was founded in 1884, although there were regional organisations earlier than this date.

London has a well organised structure and networking system that encompasses CIEH membership and local authority service providers. London Region comprises of:

  • London CIEH Regional Policy Officer
  • London CIEH regional Management Board and study groups
  • Association of London Environmental Health Managers (ALEHM) and affiliated groups
  • CIEH Members

The Region has nearly 1100 members in the corporate, graduate, associate, affiliate, student and retired member categories. It is the second largest Region in the CIEH and elects 6 Trustees to the Council of the Institute.

These members mainly work for the 33 local authorities in Greater London, but are also present in other areas of the public service (government, health service, academia and the military) and the private sector.

This site has been designed for members of the CIEH London Region to enhance communication between the Region and its members and provide a useful reference for fellow professionals.

Please browse the site and if you have any comments to make or contributions to submit, please contact us.

Members of the public may wish to visit the CIEH website (click here).
